I Found Him

My eyes widened as I searched for it

My heart leaped at the sight of any familiar feature

It should have been found by now

He promised me it would be here

So many look-alikes to settle for

But He has something reserved especially for me

I stand the chance of settling and missing my greater

Shall I wait

Do I embrace patience with the hope of experiencing better

I want to trust in your word

But the wait is hard

What am I missing

Am I not listening

Many seem to have what I want

Am I blinded by my expectations

Have they become a limitation

My weary spirit wants to give in

But His Spirit pushes me forward

Don’t grow weary, don’t give in to pressure

I am here

Don’t grow tired

I’ll give you strength

Filled with strength and hope, I seek

I seek nothing but Him

Eliminating every distraction

I am now more focused than ever

Yet even more patient

My strength is renewed as I wait on the Lord

Like an eagle, I soar high above mountains

He is the source of all I need

I search no more

I hunger nor thirst no more

For I found Him

And in Him, I found it all
