Actively waiting

I was going to say it’s been a minute, but it has been way more than that (*covers face*). One thing led to the other and somehow I never tapped the upload icon. But today nothing is holding this back.

So I was kinda talking to God recently and I asked Him for the grace (really I just wanted an instant ability) to do something in particular that I have been struggling with for a while and He gave me an answer, an immediate one at that. But it definitely wasn’t what I expected, it felt like a clapback really.

As I ‘patiently’ waited for this ability to fall on me, God said to me, “Imagine someone praying to God for the grace and anointing to heal the sick but never attempts to pray for the sick.” This hit me really hard because that was exactly what I was doing.

Are you waiting for a harvest when you haven’t even sown a seed? Sometimes we hide behind the idea of waiting on God, when really our faith hasn’t been activated. Faith as an action rather than a belief you have to reiterate to yourself constantly. I found myself doing this once, I kept saying I’m just waiting on God to change the situation. As much as I love positive affirmations, I soon realized I was ignoring the situation under the guise of ‘waiting’. The truth is, sometimes God does nothing because we do nothing.

Ruth didn’t sit in Naomi’s house waiting for favour to locate her. She said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favour”(Ruth 2:2), She made herself available, she acted, by faith and the verses following said she found herself in Boaz’s field and favour found her while she acted in faith.

Some of us are asking for grace right now in some areas of our life, our career, our ministry, our families, our academics, but we haven’t taken an active step by faith to see the manifestation of God’s power concerning that thing. We are sitting ‘patiently’ waiting for a supernatural event. Are you waiting for an opportunity to work in a particular field, don’t wait till you get that call, start now- educate yourself on all it entails, prepare yourself for the harvest. Sow your time, your effort, your service as an act of faith while you actively wait on your harvest.

As you wait for all that you have bound and loosed in the spiritual to manifest in the physical, make your waiting season your preparation season. The seed has been sown, the rain has come, rather than being idle, prepare the barn for storage of the harvest, prepare the machinery for processing of the crop, prepare for multiplication. If you are unprepared when your harvest comes, the produce will go to waste. All that you prayed and laboured for will be swept away.

In the same manner we pray for elevation when we haven’t done all we can at the level we currently are in. How can we be trusted to do better at the next level when we misuse the present opportunities; how can you be trusted with hundred people if you can’t handle ten people? We keep saying we are waiting for God, but really it is God who is waiting for us.

God is waiting on us to make some sacrifices right now in order to be elevated.

⁃ Move out of your comfort zone, do that which you normally wouldn’t be inclined to do. Take bold and unsusual steps – we are too comfortable and hence do not task ourselves to be different and better. We have taken a comfortable seat in the lane of the mediocre. I implore you today to strive for excellence, break the mold.

⁃ Be the best you can be at your current level. There is a purpose for every level in your life and a lesson to be learned. If we ignore this we may never move forward. Be the best you can be now, make the most of every opportunity.

⁃ And most importantly hold on to the unlimited power of God. He is able to do what He says He will and will not fail you wherever He has called you to. If He has said it, IT IS SO!

I pray that God will help us to excel at our current level and empower us to do great things and give us the grace to exercise our faith so we may be prepared and not lose our harvest. I pray that we will encounter God in great dimensions and receive elevation in all areas of our life, Amen!

Equip yourself with all the knowledge and strength you can and in the event of an unexpected opportunity or even an expected one, you will be ready, because you didn’t just wait, you actively waited.

Have an amazing week 😁
